Makiyo is determined to turn over a new leaf

Japanese-Taiwanese celebrity, Makiyo seemed to have turned over a new leaf after she was charged with assault for causing physical injury to a taxi driver in February.

Makiyo's mother revealed that the 27-year-old, who was sentenced to a three-year suspended sentence for attacking the taxi driver, had sought solace in Buddhism after the incident. She also sponsored two African children and is now spending more time at home to accompany her mother.

When asked how they were coping financially as both the host and her mother are not working, Makiyo's mother expressed that "as long as there's enough for use, it's fine."

Makiyo's mother, who was initially against her daughter's relationship with boyfriend, Takateru Tomoyori revealed that she is slowly coming to accept it, claiming that she "suggests, but don't stop [her], analyse, but don't force [her]."

She also revealed that the couple had not met for the past three months. "Keeping a low profile is the best," Makiyo's mother expressed and shared that the couple had been keeping in contact only via online messaging tools.
